IRPC – COMBINED HEAT AND POWER PLANT

Project Description

IRPC Public Company Limited is the fully integrated petrochemical and petroleum complex where IRPC industrial estate(Rayong Province) which is one of the largest industrial estate in Thailand. IRPC whom is the owner will develop and execute these Combined Heat and Power (CHP) project which will consist of CHP Plant, Demineralization Plant, 115KV Substation and PTT metering station.

The CHP Plant will comprise of 6 Units of Gas Turbine Generators(GTGs) of GE Frame 6B, 6 Units of Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs), and common facilities for operation of CHP Plant which will provide electric power and high/low pressure steam for petroleum and petrochemical plants in the IRPC industrial estate and nearby industries.

The nominal output of this plant will be about 220MW of electric power and 430ton/hr of process steam at the required pressure and temperature levels.

Scope of Works:

Full turn key EPC contractor for this project which including design, procurement and construction work for the whole CHP project of 6 units of HRSGs, 6 units of GTs, common system, full electrical system and also include the overall Civil work of piling, foundation work, electrical control building, administration building, road drainage and landscaping work.

GHECO ONE COAL – FIRED POWER PLANT (1 X 660MW)

Project Description

This new IPP(independent Power Program) project of 660MW Coal Fire Power Plant is developed and operated by GHECO-One Co., Ltd., a 65:35 joint venture between GLOW and Hemaraj Development PLC(Hemaraj). The full turn key contract has been awarded to Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Co., Ltd with the NTP given on July 2008 and since than the construction work has pick up and progressing on schedule. The total schedule of this project is 40 Months from the NTP(July 2008) to COD(Oct 2011).

Scope of Works:

Full Mechanical erection work for Supercritical Boiler comprise of steel structures, pressure parts, Piping, Ducting, Pulverizer, Fans of a total of 27,000 in tonnage and a height of 84m. Full Mechanical erection work for Steam Turbine, Generator, Heaters, Condenser of a total of 3,000 in tonnage.

Execution and progressing stage:

The First Supercritical Boiler Column structure has lifted on May 2009 and has since progress on schedule where the Top Girder had also lifted ahead of schedule on Sep 2009. The pressure parts has since started on Oct 2009 where since than the pressure parts work is in good rogress.

SLP 60 MW CCGT POWER PLANT EXPANSION PROJECT

Project Description

SLP project has been established by Sime LCP Power Co Ltd under Thailand’s SPP program on the basis of build, own and operate a combined steam and power generating facility and associated equipments in the Laem Chabang Industrial Estate as an independent cogeneration plant aimed to supply electricity and steam to industrial factories within the estate. The new 60MW cogeneration plant has been developed as a stand alone production plant as well as integrated to the existing LCP plant to provide a back-up to each other for electricity and steam supply, raising the reliability of supply to the industrial customers.

The Commercial Operation Date (COD) of SLP plant has been achieved on 20 February 2009 with the over all construction period of 28 months. The plant construction was executed by a consortium of Sime Engineering Sdn Bhd (Malaysia) and Mitsui & Co, Power Systems (Japan) as Off Shore suppliers and Thai Jurong Engineering Ltd (Thailand) as On Shore construction contractor. The Plant consists of GT, HRSG & ST each with associated BOP & electrical power generation & supply equipments.

ROJANA COMBINED CYCLE COGENERATION PLANT EXPANSION #2 and #4

Project Description

The Expansion projects was constructed to meet the growing demand of power and steam by the industrial park customers. Gas Turbine (GT) and Gas Turbine Generator (GTG) were packaged and supplied by JEL consortium partner Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries (IHI), Japan. HRSG was supplied by Daekyung Machinery and Engineering (DKME) Korea with TJEL’s expertise and track record in executing similar project.

The Expansion project-2 plant is a Combined Cycle Cogeneration plant of one GE-LM6000PC Gas Turbine and Alstom Generator with gross output of 44MW, one relating Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) with high pressure steam production of 28t/h fed to the existing HP steam header. The plant also produces 20t/h process steam at 18Bar which is distributed to the various Industrial park customers.

The Expansion project-4 plant is a Combined Cycle Cogeneration plant of one GE-LM6000PC Gas Turbine and Alstom Generator with gross output of 44MW, one relating Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) and Shin Nippon Steam Turbine with Brush Generator of 30MW rated capacity. The plant is also capable of producing process steam 18Bar which is distributed to the various Industrial park customers.

Mechanical and Piping works: On-base heavy equipments like GT, GTG, HRSG, ST and STG. , Installation and alignment of rotating equipments like GT, GTG, ST, STG, pumps, compressors, cooling tower and all BOP equipments , Field installation of HRSG, ducting, pressure vessels, tanks and main stack , Fabricate and install piping, vessels and tanks , Hydro and pneumatic tests.

Electrical and Instrumentation works: Installation of Switch gears/MCC, Transformers, Cable raceways and supports, Cabling laying , MV heat shrink terminations , LV and I&C cable terminations , Grounding and lightning protection , Plant utility power distribution.

Commissioning: Commissioning and start up of gas turbine, generator, auxiliaries fuel gas booster package and Air compressors , Commissioning and start up of Steam Turbine, Auxiliaries and Steam Turbine Generator. , Start up of Boiler Feed water pumps and HRSG, Centrifugal, sump pumps and metering pumps. , Commissioning of Cooling tower and cooling water system. , System test for MV (11.5kV & 3.3kV), LV (415V and 230V), UPS/DC systems , Overall plant start up and protection function testing , Gas and noise emission tests & Fuel Gas analysis , Plant Performance test, Plant Reliability test run.

BLCP COAL – FIRED POWER PLANT (2 x 717MW)

Project Description

The BLCP Power project is being developed on a build-own-operate basis under Thailand’s Independent Power Program. CLP has been involved in BLCP since 2001 and the project is equally owned by Banpu Public Company Limited. Construction commenced in mid-2003, and is managed by CLP Subsidiary. Construction work in progressing on schedule for completion in late 2006 and early 2007 for the two units and project budget. The power station is built on reclaimed land in an industrial estate in Rayong Province. The power plant used low NOx burners, flue gas desulphurization plant and electrostatic precipitators. All electricity generated will be sold to EGAT 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA)

SAHA COMBINED CYCLE COGENERATION EXPANSION # 2

Project Description

The Expansion project-2 was constructed to meet the growing demand of power and steam by the industrial park customers. Gas Turbine (GT) and Gas Turbine Generator (GTG) were packaged and supplied by JEL consortium partner Ishikawajima- Harima Heavy Industries (IHI), Japan. The existing plant includes 2 Gas Turbines LM 6000PC and one 10MW Gas turbine, one unfired HRSG, 2 supplemental fired HRSGs, one extraction Steam Turbine and one Auxiliary Boiler. The first phase of expansion of this facility of one 10MW Gas Turbine and HRSG was successfully carried out by JEL-TJEL on EPC Turnkey basis.

RATCHABURI THERMAL POWER PLANT 1,400MW

Power Plant Experience

Project Description

The Ratchaburi Thermal Power Plant is the largest power project ever launched by EGAT. It comprises a thermal power plant and a combined cycle power plant. The Thermal Plant has two units of 700MW Mitsubishi TC4F - Single Shaft Steam Turbine. It consists of two units of HP & LP condensers with a total tonnage of 2000 ton. The boiler to produce steam is the Supercritical Sliding Pressure Operation Once through Boiler Type MDSSRR. The Thermal Plant will be fueled by either bunker oil (2% sulfur) or natural gas as the main fuel source. At every generating unit, the Fuel Gas Desulfurization (FGD) will be equipped to extract 94.8% of sulfur dioxide from the fuel gas.

TRI ENERGY COMBINED CYCLE POWER PLANT 700MW

Project Description

The Tri Energy Power Plant is an Independent Power Plant (IPP) project owned by Tri-Energy company a consortium of Banpu Coal of Thailand, Texaco and Mission Energy of USA. This combined cycle plant has a configuration comprises of Two GE 9FA gas turbine generators of 285MW capacity each and one GE steam turbine generator of 262MW capacity giving a net output of 700MW. It has 2 units of Nooter/Erickson Heat Recovery Generator (HRSG). Thai Jurong Engineering Limited was awarded the Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation erection portion by BVI, the EPC contractor. The construction activities started in November 1998 and completed two months ahead of schedule.

Project Description

The Sahacogen Co. Ltd. Combined Cycle Cogeneration Plant produced 122MW of net electrical power. The project provides 90MW to EGAT under the Small Power Plant (SPP) program and up to 32MW and 95,500 lb/hr of steam to the Industrial Park tenants at the maximum load condition. This Combined Cycle Plant is made up of two LM6000PC GE manufactured Aeroderivative gas turbine generator of 47MW each which are packed and supplied by IHI, Japan and one ABB steam turbine generator. It has Heat Recovery Steam generator (HRSG) x 2 units supplied by Allborg Keystone inc., USA.

Wang Noi Combined Cycle Power Plant Stage 1 & 2 have three blocks (3 x 600MW) which include 6 units of 200MW F-Series Gas Turbine Generator and 3 units of 200MW Steam Turbine Generator. The total electricity generating capacity for both stages 1 and 2 is 1800MW. The Wang Noi Power Plant is considered to be the biggest capacity and highest production efficiency plant in Thailand.

The Khanom Combined Cycle Power Plant is the biggest Power Plant in Southern, Thailand and it is the first to achieve ISO9002. The Combined Cycle Power Plant comprises GE 9E Gas Turbine Generator x 4 units and GE steam Turbine x 2 units generating 600MW output designed to use natural gas and oil as fuel. The plant has CMI Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) x 4 units.

The Namphong Power Plant is the biggest Combined Cycle Power Plant in Northeast, Thailand. The Power Plant is composed of 2 units, one for each phase. Each unit capacity is 355MW with Mitsubishi Gas turbine Generator x 2 and Steam Turbine Generator x 1. The two units total capacity is 710MW with the capacity of being able to use diesel and natural gas.
